Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Uncovered Media, a media brand of Fiat Growth LLC ("we", "us"), collects through joinuncovered.com (including app.joinuncovered.com), our emails and our text-message programs, and how we use it.

What we collect

• When you subscribe: your email address, and when you signed up and from which page.
• If you create an account: your first and last name, and your password, which we store only in scrambled (hashed) form and can never see. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us; we never receive your Google password.
• If you personalize your feed: your answers about your role, what you are working on and how you like to read, watch or listen.
• If you opt in to texts: your mobile number and the date and way you gave consent.
• If you contact us: what you put in the guest list or partner form, such as your name, company, role, email and message.
• If you are a member of The Room: your name, title, company, mobile number, consent record and the replies you choose to publish.
• If you subscribed to one of our newsletters on Substack: the email address and subscription details Substack provided when we moved our newsletters to joinuncovered.com.
• Automatically: basic technical information such as pages visited, device and browser type, and whether our emails were delivered. Your saves, stars, quiz answers and subscription status are also kept in your own browser so the site remembers you.

How we use it

• To send the emails and texts you asked for, and to let you manage or stop them.
• To show you content that fits what you told us.
• To reply to requests and inquiries you send us.
• To run The Room and publish replies you have confirmed, credited the way you chose.
• To keep the service secure, understand what is useful and improve it.

What we share

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Mobile numbers and text-message opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share information only with service providers that help us run Uncovered, such as website hosting and databases, email delivery, text-message delivery, video hosting and website analytics, who may use it only to provide those services to us, or when the law requires it.

Cookies and browser storage

We use a small amount of browser storage to remember your preferences, saves and subscription, and sign-in cookies so you stay signed in to your account. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, such as which pages are visited and which videos are played; Google Analytics sets its own cookies and receives your IP address and device information. We have turned off Google’s advertising features and do not use advertising cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you use Uncovered or remain subscribed, and delete it when you ask us to, unless we must keep it to meet a legal obligation. When you unsubscribe we keep your email on a do-not-contact list so we never email you again by mistake. Records of text-message consent and opt-out are kept as carrier rules require.

Your choices and rights

• Use the link at the bottom of any email to change what you get or unsubscribe.
• Reply STOP to any text to stop texts.
• Email brandy@joinuncovered.com to see, correct, download or delete the information we hold about you. California residents and people in other places with privacy laws have these rights by law, and we honor them for everyone. We will not treat you differently for using them.

Security

We protect information with reasonable safeguards, such as encryption in transit and limited team access, but no system is perfectly secure.

Children

Uncovered is for professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and its effective date, and tell subscribers about material changes by email.
